Multi-handed Sessions

4-handed Classic Lomi Lohi
(from 1 hour to 1 day)

To truly experience the depth of Lomi Lomi, we recommend clients start with at least a 2-hour session. This full-body treatment allows the nervous system to drop into a fully relaxed state. Once the body softens and the tissues become more available, deeper work can happen naturally. Many people also report transformational moments, emotional release, and a quiet sense of inner balance.

4-handed Pregnancy Lomi (60/90 mins)

Offering a 4-handed pregnancy Lomi Lomi is always an honour. It is one of the most tender forms of our work: four beings, four attentive hands, and a deeply supportive presence. Practically, it’s ideal for pregnancy, as the limited time one can comfortably spend on the table becomes more effective. The four hands offer both nurturing touch and a complete, thorough massage of the whole body.

6-handed Lomi Lomi

The 6-handed Lomi Lomi takes multi-handed work into a completely different dimension. While 4-handed sessions exist in the wellness world, they are often simply an efficiency upgrade.

Integrating a third therapist in a meaningful way changes the entire landscape. It dissolves the usual dualities — left–right, yin–yang, masculine–feminine — and creates a continuous field of movement around the body.

The rhythm of six hands — sometimes synchronised, sometimes gently chaotic — invites the whole system to let go, surrender, and receive. Some aspects of these sessions are structured to create trust and safety. Others intentionally open the door to the unknown.

8-handed Lomi Lomi

In our experience, the 8-handed Lomi Lomi is the most balanced and potent form of this work. We have experimented with 10-handed and even larger teams, but four therapists create a beautiful equilibrium while allowing each giver enough space to stay connected and intentional.

The sensory input of eight hands is simply too much for the mind to track. After a short playful phase — who is doing what? — most people drop into a deep sense of safety and surrender. From there, it becomes possible to reconnect with inner resources, soften old wounds, or simply let gratitude rise.

As with all multi-handed work, some aspects are well defined to ensure safety; others invite all of us into mystery.

Couples’ Treat (two parallel sessions - one-on-one or multi-handed)

For years we have supported couples using a variety of therapeutic tools aimed at deepening connection, appreciation, and attunement. Lomi Lomi brought a new dimension to this work. Experiencing these sessions side-by-side often opens fresh perspectives on presence and intimacy.
For an even more unique experience, both treatments can be upgraded to multi-handed by involving additional practitioners.

One Day Retreat
(5+ hours hands on)

We offer a full-day 1-on-1 or multi-handed Lomi Lomi private retreat for those seeking a once-in-a-lifetime experience. In ancient times, Lomi Lomi Nui was performed for many hours — even a full day — as a rite of passage or preparation for major life decisions. We honour this lineage in a modern, grounded way.

During this immersive experience, the recipient is massaged, nourished, rested, and supported for an entire day, concluding our time with a meal shared together. The aim is to connect with the deepest layer of oneself and allow release, clarity, healing, and restoration to unfold naturally.

Multi-handed Ceremonial Massages

There are many ways to describe something that is ultimately beyond words.

During our multi-handed sessions, people often experience a level of safety and presence they’ve never encountered before. We support recipients in entering altered states of consciousness or non-dual awareness — without substances, effort or overwhelm. When someone says, “I’ve never had anything like this,” they’re simply naming the truth: these sessions offer a rare, tangible experience of loving human presence.

Our work is rooted in the Hawaiian Lomi Lomi lineage, where multi-handed bodywork marked life transitions and supported major decisions. About a decade ago, our team began reviving aspects of these traditions through longer and more immersive sessions.

In today’s landscape of psychedelic and trauma-informed exploration, many describe these journeys as comparable to MDMA or DMT experiences — without substances. The slow, unpredictable movements can evoke pre-verbal or even perinatal sensations, similar to the spontaneous “massage” experienced in the womb.

We see this as a grounded somato-spiritual practice: simple, safe, deeply human. Even short sessions of 20–30 minutes can open profound states of clarity and connection, sometimes supported by practitioners with little bodywork background — because the essential ingredient is presence, not technique. This emerging collective healing modality is on its way to joining the circle of mainstream approaches — much like the early days of Reiki, holotropic breathwork, or Somatic Experiencing.

Dan’s hypothesis — informed by correspondence with Dr. Rick Strassman — is that multi-handed sessions may support the release of endogenous DMT.

We are currently exploring the options for in-depth research with researchers at Imperial College and King’s College London.

What to expect from a multi-handed journey

Sessions range from 4–8 hours, sometimes unfolding over several days, with teams of 4–8 hands. Parts of the structure are intentional to create safety; other parts invite you into the unknown. Longer sessions allow the body to drop into an unprecedented stillness, making deep release possible without force or pain.

Five-hour-plus sessions often become rites of passage and end with shared food and reflection — echoing the communal practices from which this work originates.

In traditional Hawaiian culture, new chiefs underwent up to 15 days of near-continuous initiation guided by elders. Our aim is to honour the essence of that tradition in a modern, accessible, and grounded form — supporting personal growth, leadership, and conscious human evolution… and maybe one day reviving the 15-day long ritual itself as well.

FAQ

Multi-handed Lomi Lomi involves 4, 6, or 8 hands working simultaneously to provide a deeply immersive and transformational experience. Beyond the physical benefits, the synchronized and sometimes arhythmic movements create a space for emotional release, energy balancing, and spiritual connection. These sessions often go beyond what a traditional massage can offer, inviting participants to enter a profound state of presence and awareness.

Unlike typical massages, multi-handed sessions use multiple practitioners simultaneously. The combined flow of 4–8 hands engages the whole body-mind system in a way that is deeply relaxing, energetically balancing, and often transformative. Many clients experience shifts similar to spiritual breakthroughs, profound emotional release, and heightened awareness – sometimes compared to psychedelic or meditative states – without any substances.
For most people, to put it simply: it is an experience of unprecedented rest and feeling safe in their bodies… coming home.

Sessions can range from one hour to a full day, depending on the type and depth of experience you wish to have. Some ceremonial sessions can even extend over multiple days for rites of passage or deep personal transformation.
